Last updated September 23, 2026
What we send
Curless Psychology sends text messages to clients, and to parents, guardians, or other contacts who receive reminders for a client, when they have agreed to receive them. Our messages cover:
- appointment confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and cancellations
- secure links to complete intake paperwork and forms in our client portal
- billing notices, deposit and payment requests, and secure payment links
We do not send marketing messages. Message frequency varies with your appointments and account activity. Message and data rates may apply.
How to sign up
You sign up on our patient information form. We email you a secure link to your patient forms, and the form asks for your phone number. Under “Your communication preferences,” check the box labeled “Enable text messages (SMS)”. The box is never checked for you, and agreeing is not a condition of receiving care.
The disclosure beside the checkbox reads:
By checking this box, you agree to receive appointment, paperwork, and billing text messages from Curless Psychology at the mobile number you provided. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of receiving services. Privacy Policy: www.curlesspsychology.com/privacy.html. SMS Terms: www.curlesspsychology.com/sms-terms.html.

Privacy and security
Text messages are not encrypted and can be seen by anyone with access to your phone. We keep clinical details out of texts. A message may include the practice name, a first name, an appointment time, an amount due, and a secure link to our client portal. If others can see your phone, tell us and we will use another way to reach you.
We do not sell or share your mobile number or your consent for marketing. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Carriers
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
